Shiro is an... interesting individual. With no work ethic or drive to speak of, he spends most of his time just hanging out and wasting time. Despite being on the government paycheck, he rarely shows up to work. Even with his superior combat ability he prefers not to fight and instead to just 'work things out over some sake and udon.' He is not a chef, but he loves food. While he is very lazy, he still chooses to train. He loves being around people, but he seeks solitude. He is not into books, yet he has written one. All of these peculiarities and more make up the complex individual which is Shiro.

... that Shiro was the author of a somewhat popular novel named The Windy City Story? It's popularity was accredited not only to his own popularity with the people of the capital, but due to the explicit and rebellious nature of the book. The city's censor has re-released it's own edited version, but the originals can easily be found for sale in the seedier parts of the merchant district.
... that some of the older members of Shiro's family claim that his netsuke is an evil tsukumogami, as it is around one-hundred and fifty years old. The jade and ebony netsuke is a family heirloom, passed down on his father's side and was given to him by his older brother when he was fifteen.
... Shiro refuses to fill his gourd with anything other then Loituma Girl brand sake?
... that Shiro is a entomophobic and an arachnaphobic?
... Shiro spends most of his time hanging out in the eastern field?
... that Shiro owns a small two-story home in the lower class district?
... that Shiro's nickname, 'Shishiro', was originally used by his sister when he was young? The nickname spread to usage by her friends. When Shiro eventually grew older, the name mysteriously spread through the city's female population at an alarming rate.
... that Shiro is quite partial to kake udon and gyoza? Although he is known among his friends to be in possession of a few 'secret Nakanishi family recipies'.
... that Shiro's name is almost unheard of in the farmland?
... Shiro once slept for an entire week straight for no other reason then he had nothing better to do?
... Shiro's favorite color is light blue?
... Shiro is long time friends with captain Taku Kazuhiko?

In a lot of instances, you'll hear something to the effect of "Detail is the key!" or "The detail sets it apart from everything else." well, a roleplay character doesn't have to be any different am I right? The following is a list of Shiro's personal effects and knick-knacks he keeps on his person.
Shiro's Netsuke- Shiro's netsuke is a family heirloom, passed down on his father's side of the family and previously in possession of his older brother. The netsuke is one-hundred and fifty-four years old and thus rumored to be a rather evil tsukumogami. Made from high quality jade that Shiro often polishes and imported ebony preserved in lacquer. The netsuke supports the inro from a very short, yet very thick red string made up of material that would require great strength or several chops from a very sharp blade to cut. The netsuke is round and flat, roughly the size of a child's hand and depicts a rough representation of a very large predatory bird, known as the Sora-Kyoufu.
Shiro's Gourd- Shiro's gourd is a rather important object to Shiro, without it he would have no way to transport his favorite Loituma Girl brand sake around with him. The gourd is held by a brown leather strap fastened around the narrow 'waist' of the container. Although it appears a bit disheveled, the gourd is in rather good condition and the container's neck and it's cork stopper have yet to fail Shiro. Labeled on the bottom half of the gourd in kanji two of it's sides is 'sake'. Currently, Shiro is on his third gourd, having lost one and the other having been crushed by an akuma.

'Everybody Wants You' by Billy Squier
You see 'em comin' at you every night Strung on pretension, they fall for you at first sight You know their business, you think it's a bore They make you restless, it's nothin' you ain't seen before Get around town, spend your time on the run You never let down, say you do it for fun Never miss a play, though you make quite a few You give it all away - everybody wants you
You crave attention, you can never say "no" Throw your affections any way the wind blows You always make it, you're on top of the scene You sell the copy like the cover of a magazine Puttin' on the eyes 'til there's nobody else You never realize what you do to yourself The things that they see make the daily reviews You never get free - everybody wants you
Everybody knows you Everybody snows you Everybody needs you, leads you, bleeds you
Nights of confusion and impossible dreams Days at the mirror, patchin' up around the seams You got your glory, you paid for it all You take your pension in loneliness and alcohol Say goodbye to conventional ways You can't escape the hours, you lose track of the days The more you understand, seems the more like you do You never get away - everybody wants you

-Nakanishi Oda The first child of the Nakanishi family, and the most valued, Oda was named for a very famous man from a far-away land that managed to unify a large number of warring states under one flag. Raised as nothing short of a perfect diplomat, he knows little outside politics. Although he puts off an air of being a cool and calculated badass, even he knows that if someone were to challenge him he would likely loose. As a result of a noble's inability to defend themselves he is rarely seen without a small troop of loyal bodyguards ready to spring to his defense. Even though he seems rather heartless he passed their father's netsuke down to Shiro.
-Nakanishi Inosuka The eldest sister of the current brood of Nakanishi youths, she was the second out of their parents' successes. While in her childhood she and Shiro were very close friends, when she became an adolescant she was drafted into the world of politics. Like her older brother Oda she became a skilled politician and would serve as a wonderful wife to any lucky nobleman. Fortunatley, she has her eyes set on higher asperations and one day hopes to overthrow much of the current empire's restrictions and become the country's first empress.
-Nakanishi "Shishiro" Shiro The protagonist of his own story. In all honesty he is a bit of a drunk, womanizer, lay-about, but he simply lives the life a large percentage of the city's men wish to live. Under his lazy, careless, and playful demeanor hides a potentially dangerous weapon, seldom seen by anyone. He comes off as disrespectful, as he is, but can be befriended. Evidence is shown in the relationships he forms with the people of the city or his fellow warriors.
-Nakanishi Asumuru With much charisma Shiro persuaded his parents that their next born child should be a gift to a foreign kingdom, as a way to gain the Uruwashii Kingdom some allies and bolster the family's status in the noble circles of the city. Asumuru just happened to be this child. As soon as she could run she was trained in the ways of noble court, in the ways of a bodyguard, a geisha, and several of professions that any master could find use for. As a result of her harsh conditioning and strict training she developed into a bit of a depressed shell of a young woman. At the age of sixteen she was shipped off to a kingdom ruled by the father of an old friend of Shiro. Her demeanor is rather quiet and cold, and she posses a rather disturbing grin. Just being in her prescence can invoke a feeling of cold and evil. Despite her stature she is a deadly assassin, although her ability as a warrior is unfortunatley diminished by her other obligations. Although she is sixteen, her curvacious body hints at a slightly older age, yet the exposed portion of her face envokes an age closer to twelve or thirteen.
-Nakanishi Tanaka The youngest and last child of Shiro's brothers and sisters, Tanaka's role in life has not yet been decided as he is still fairly young. He is rather playful and thinks of nothing more of clinging on to childhood. Although he is only a few years Asumuru's junior, he is rather childish and naive. He has trouble accepting the cruelties of mankind and relishes the opperunity to visit 'Big Brother Shishiro'.
